Fall time in Portland
In Portland, fall usually starts in October with daytime temperatures dropping to the 60s and low 70s, with cooler nights at about 50-58 degrees. By late October this has dropped another 10 degrees. This temperature change signals the trees to start turning colors. The cooler the nights; the brighter the reds, yellows and oranges of the leaves. October is usually a very nice month with mild temperatures and sunny days.
Hillsdale Community Church UCC will follow the Portland Public Schools with regard to weather-related closures. If schools are closed, the church also will be closed.
Closures will be announced on the church office telephone message (503-246-5474 option 7), on our Facebook page, and here on our website.
Please refer to the Calendar page for multiple events at HCC. Call the HCC office and speak to Cheryl Verne’ Gelvan, our Church Office Administrator.
Cindy VanLoo new Prayer Chain coordinator: If you would like to be added to the prayer chain or if you have a prayer chain request, please contact Cindy at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have an urgent prayer request, contact Cindy at email@example.com or by calling (503) 680-1146.
