At 9:15 a.m. we host an adult education hour. Child care is available. Drop in any time, or come every week.

Our Worship Service begins right at 10:30 a.m. and lasts about an hour. Among the first words you will hear are, “No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!” and we mean it. In worship, you will find older folks, babies, working people, gay people, straight people, conservatives, liberals, seekers, wanderers, doubters and life-long church goers. Some folks like to get here a little early for a cup of fair-trade coffee and conversation before worship.  

There is a message for children early in the service, and then children are invited to Sunday school. Some families prefer for their children to stay in worship the whole time, and that is fine, too. Pastor Jennifer preaches, each week relating the Bible passage to our lives. On the first Sunday of the month, everyone is invited to receive communion (also called eucharist or Lord’s Supper).

There is lots of music to hear and to sing. Our choir and soloists present special music each week. The hymns we sing, some perhaps familiar to you and some new, are led by music director Tim Ditch on our magnificent pipe organ. 

A recent visitor to Hillsdale said she liked the church because the worship feels both “welcoming and traditional.” 

Following worship, we have a time for fair-trade coffee, yummy treats, and more conversation. Come on by any Sunday at 10:30.

While Sunday morning is the heart of our community life, we also gather for Bible Study (Monday mornings), a Commuters’ Prayer Practice Group (Tuesday evenings), a weekly walk in the neighborhood (Thursday mornings), choir rehearsal (Thursday evenings), and many other get-togethers, meetings, and meals.
